چکیده

In collaboration with the Stanford University Medical Media and Information Technologies center (SUMMIT), Immersion Corporation has designed and developed a new haptic simulation interface for minimally invasive surgical simulators. This device, shown in Figure 1, features two similar master manipulators that each have five degrees of freedom equipped with haptic feedback. The centers of the gimbals are located at a typical inter-trochar distance. A simulated camera control is currently under development for integration with the device. The interface without the camera is now commercially available. Several vendors of surgical simulation software have integrated the device with their software.

Testing Time Domain Passivity Control of Haptic Enabled Systems

Much recent work has studied the means of achieving stable yet high performance control of haptic interfaces. Such interfaces provide compelling force feedback in virtual reality simulations for medical training, advanced computer aided design (CAD), entertainment, and other applications. This paper reports experimental testing of a new method of stable haptic interface control, the Passivity O...

Linux iSER Performance

Executive Summary The iSCSI Extensions for RDMA (iSER) protocol is a translation layer for operating iSCSI over RDMA transports, such as iWARP/Ethernet or InfiniBand. This paper presents iSER performance results comparing iWARP RDMA over 40Gb Ethernet and FDR InfiniBand (IB). The results demonstrate that iSER over Chelsio’s iWARP RDMA adapters achieves consistently superior results in throughpu...

ISER: selection of differentially expressed genes from DNA array data by non-linear data transformations and local fitting

SUMMARY This report describes an algorithm (intensity-dependent selection of expression ratios or ISER) developed to analyse DNA array data by optimizing the selection of genes with the most significant variations in expression amongst two RNA samples. The algorithm is designed for use when little or no replication of array hybridizations is available.
